The images are from "Blue in Bed," Dec 2023, Paula’s window installation at 80 Washington Square East Gallery, which explores women’s mental health through the symbolism of the bed as a site of intimacy, memory, and sanctuary. Using the color blue to evoke both melancholy and fluidity, Paula captures emotions that confine individuals to spaces of solace while also offering reflection and restoration. Figures and blurred forms, some painted through tears, embody restless thoughts and reveal how distortion can open new perspectives.
